Since then, this show has been performed more than 80 times, and like a clumsy potato going through a hellish time turning into legendary vodka, this show has undergone many transformations.
Jak de Priester: 25 jaar van songs
2001 was the year in which Jak de Priester wrote his first big hit, “Sally Williams Nougat”. The following year he won the ATKV Crescendo competition and released his first album. This is also the year in which he brought his first show to the KKNK.

Jakob is an engaging tale about a strange little boy, and about love, light and everything reflected in between. It is the story of a child who is born different and who is ostracised by the community in which he lives.

Every brooch (borsspeld) has a story, including yours. In this creative workshop, participants create two miniature works of art: One text-based brooch (a word, short sentence or phrase) and one image-based brooch, like a small landscape, portrait or abstract form.

The award-winning journalist and TV director Chris du Plessis recently got back on his music saddle with melodious versions of Afrikaans verses from the previous two centuries, “rather than the settings of the sexy sixties that are so often served up”.

The award-winning Karoo Kaarte-team behind Die Swartmerrie returns with a brand-new drama from this project’s research. In Spoel , Oudtshoorn is remembered by the people who learned to look carefully. The play follows four Oudtshoorn residents – photographers and children from families of photographers – whose lives unfolded over generations in front of and behind the lens.

A spectacular tribute to 30 years of the KKNK in Oudtshoorn and the perfect kick-off to this festival! This special open-air production takes you on a nostalgic journey through the festival’s rich history, but also looks forward, full-on. It’s more than just a concert – it’s a celebration of everything the KKNK was, is and promises to be.

Wildehondekloof: Fynbos-fynproe
Wildehondekloof’s popular fynbos tour and tasting is presented for the second time at the KKNK. Experience the wonder of the Klein Karoo’s fynbos in food. After a short walk in the veld to look at the plants, participants return to the main house where fynbos-flavoured salts, vinegar and tea are tasted.
Willie Strauss: Tong in die quiche
Tong in die quiche is the latest production from radio personality, cabaret artist and home cook Willie Strauss. Willie’s voice is recognizable across the country and with his infectious laugh he entertains audiences with his Northern Cape accent.

Woordenaar is a journey rich in sound and word, through the life and upbringing of a boy of white and black descent. It begins in the fields and plains of the Eastern Cape and the confusing and strange experiences on the Cape Flats.
