As we get older, most people tend to (conveniently) forget certain things. And it’s usually the things we don’t want to remember. And the things we do want to remember, over time, seem to get all sorts of embellishments added. A half-truth in the 50s becomes a fait accompli 50 years later. A tall story is blow-dried into a magnificent beehive, and a drunken one-night stand turns years later into a beautiful, short-lived romance. This comedy cabaret will have you laughing out loud one moment and softly gasping for breath the next, because you might just recognise yourself. And, of course, always with a dash of nostalgia. An audience member on Ouma’s debut in Ouma is op pad: “Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck takes you on a journey through a changing world in a super-humorous and refreshing way! You laugh until you cry, while serious truths make you laugh out loud. Excellent!”
