With horns and whistles and a beautifully painted face, Zonkie pedals her bicycle full of frills and treats. There are butterflies fluttering in the clouds above her head, and a treehouse full of stories that opens when she stops. She tells her story all in rhyme, as things pop up one at a time: Bugs and animals, plants and paper, songs and puppets and pictures on sticks. Zonkie’s friends want to share stories and secrets, with the hope that adults will play and imagine again, and the wish that children will learn to observe all of nature – as if every branch, web, beak and tentacle retains the earth’s magic!
