Susan, a young Afrikaans-born but only English-speaking South African, goes in search of herself. Is she a “Boeremeisie”? Not if she can help it. But what is she then? What are the seeds that grow inside her and which parts of Afrikaans has taken root? In this one-woman show, Susan attempts to unearth who she is and where she belongs, amidst the seeds and weeds of her Afrikaans heritage and tainted history.
